Ten years of walking for women.
SASSI 30 is a walk along the stunning Jervis Bay coastline, raising funds for domestic violence survivors in the Shoalhaven and women and children at SASSI’s crisis accommodation sites.
This grassroots, community-driven event was born from a simple but powerful idea: that together, we can make real change for women and children in the Shoalhaven. Ten years on, hundreds of walkers have raised nearly $100,000 for SASSI’s Nowra Women’s Refuge, keeping the spotlight on gender-based violence and homelessness in our region.
Every dollar raised goes directly to the clients we support. Over the years, SASSI 30 has funded a coach trip to Mogo Zoo, school holiday activities, Christmas experiences, a sanctuary garden, internet access in the refuge, and the construction of a children’s playground, giving families living on or below the poverty line access to moments that matter.
Your walk, your way.
SASSI 30 is a choose-your-own-adventure. Start at White Sands Park in Huskisson, stop at Plantation Point at the 7km mark, and finish (or turn around) at beautiful Hyams Beach at 10–12km.
Walk as an individual or as a group, go the full distance or just a stretch — any distance makes a difference. Prefer to cheer from the sidelines? A donation to the cause is just as welcome.
The path from White Sands Park to Plantation Point is fully accessible, so whether you’re walking, running, using a wheelchair, or pushing a pram, everyone can get moving together for one cause.
